There is a message that Mike, as he prefers to be called, is carrying to all who lead and manage. He believes that our most valuable asset is people, people that you as leaders seek to understand past a superficial level and value sincerely. A native Californian and a graduate of Temple University, Mike has many personal accomplishments as well. He is a private pilot, and in his youth trained marine mammals. He is an accomplished painter and sketch artist. Mike believes that all that is a human if tapped properly can improve any organization and enhance any “team.” Those that lead need to know what a persons strengths are and how to best utilize them in your business problem. Mike often uses the ocean as a metaphor for this process, he likens each individual to a wave on the mighty ocean, an awesome but beautiful place. The leaders of today have to study each “wave” and decide which one they will “ride” to the natural solution of the business problem. Just like the surfer though leaders shouldn't look and cannot possibly “control” the ocean and its waves, you need to “enjoy the ride and share the experience”.
